When I scheduled the trip to London via New York, I started looking for videos and chronicles I could do. Some had to be trains…
The consulted has Ale of flying around the world and he told me CALEDONIAN SLEEPER. When I looked for it, I didn’t even hesitate… it was a different chronicle than the ones he had already done.
So it was that weeks before I bought the cabin for myself… and from there I organized the rest of the itinerary.

This train leaves from EUSTON, but the one I came back on, already “normal” arrived at King Cross.
This train aims to go slower in order to travel slower and arrive in Edinburgh in the morning… or the other way around too. So tourists take it, travelers in general but also business people. In fact, weeks before the former British ambassador to Argentina had uploaded photos that he was making that trip, since he is working with the whiskey industry… in Scotland, of course.
So I take the opportunity to send a greeting to Don Kent who sent me a message for this trip 🙂
Euston has a lot of movement of medium-distance and urban trains, in addition to this one that I took
There was a boy playing the piano and because of the shirt he had on he had recently stopped working in one of the shops in the station.
I bought the ticket directly on the official website of the company https://www.sleeper.scot/ where the different options were.
The formation has, in addition to the cabins, two “normal” cars with seats with a configuration similar to that of the first of the trains, that is, 2-1 in the seats and not 2-2.
The cost of the entire cabin was 130 pounds in my case, but this is more expensive if it is on a weekend. But the price would have been the same for two people… I’ll clarify it for when the comparison is made with the plane or the normal train.
23:50 the announcement of the departure of the formation and that it was already embarking on platform 15
When I was going I saw other formations where they unloaded cars similar to those of the planes
This was the locomotive that moved the formation, I estimate, but not the one that took us, which had the company colors
What are these… all in dark green
From outside I saw one of the cars with the “normal” seats, with plug and USB
And here you can see when it was already running. I did not go into detail because there were passengers
beautiful design and colors
And seeing the sign at the exit, it was clear that the formation would split in a moment and half would go to Glasgow and the other to Edinburgh. My car obviously said Edinburgh and it was already assigned from the go on the ticket
Here you can see one of the cars that says GLASGOW that it was one of those from later
The blessed cabin 🙂
Here is the lighting system of the bed below, plus the general light, with USB and volume of the announcements
Photo from further away (and contorted) to show the double pillow
On the window there is a sink, basket, towel and you can see the booklet that contains the card to enter the cabin, similar to that of a hotel
But there was also another command with more plugs and USB, but you can see the space to leave the cell phone charging on the bottom right
Although there are cabins with SHOWER, as an extra and which is obviously more expensive, the bathrooms are general, like on a normal train or plane.
The dining car, which normally seems to serve dinner, but that morning I received an email informing that due to lack of staff they could only serve sandwiches
Between two cars there was a shoe shine…
I suppose it must have been in that same… because then I took this photo already underway with a softer light in the dining room
I went there and bought myself a tea
On the way I also saw the larger bathroom in one of the cars for people with reduced mobility, which I think also has a larger cabin there.
Ready to sleep in my cabin
Not without first taking the walking speed at that moment… (GALILEOGPS app on my Motorola Edge 20 pro)
After several hours… dawn arriving in Edinburgh (where the formation had already broken up without realizing it because I was peacefully asleep…)
The night before the car guard asked me what I wanted in the morning, tea or coffee… which I hadn’t seen what they gave. Obviously I went for a tea and at one point they left it for me at the door. I was fresh and my face was obviously totally asleep
But I wish it had lasted longer!
There you can see my cup from the morning and the one that was left over from last night
The fact is that the aisle is very narrow, but the plane car just passes
And as they say in those lands, in Scotland there are more sheep than Scots… and they already marked their presence
Obviously we arrive on time at Edinburgh station
Edinburgh Waverley
And here the locomotive with the Caledonian Sleeper logo
A beautiful trip and a huge pleasure to be able to do something like that as a fan of transport in any way…
This is the video in question 🙂
And by the way subscribe to my YouTube channel that long videos before the post
