Undergoing the Free Leave Program

BANDUNGKOMPAS.com – Lawyers who are inmates in Sukamiskin Prison, OC Kaligisunderwent a free pre -leave (CMB) program since Tuesday (15/3/2022).

“Going on a leave program before being released,” said Head of Sukamiskin Prison Elly Yuzar when contacted, Saturday (19/3/2022).

According to Elly, OC Kaligis is no longer in the Sukamiskin Prison because his status is not a prison inmates (WBP).

Currently, OC Kaligis is a client so he doesn’t have to return to Sukamiskin Prison. Even so, OC Kaligis is still supervised by the Correctional Center (Bapas) Bandung.

“He is still under the supervision of Bapas Bandung,” he said.

The CMB program was carried out by OC Kaligis during the last remission, which was three months.

“What is certain is that he is on leave before being released,” he said.

As is known, OC Kaligis was sentenced to 10 years in prison after being proven to have bribed the Medan Administrative Court judge. However, the Supreme Court (MA) granted the review submitted by OC Kaligis.

The Supreme Court decided to reduce the detention period of OC Kaligis by three years. OC Kaligis’s sentence, which was previously set at 10 years in prison, has now become seven years in prison.

OC Kaligis was proven to have bribed the panel of judges and the clerk of the Administrative Court in Medan in the amount of US$ 27,000 and 5,000 Singapore dollars.

The money was obtained by OC Kaligis from the wife of former North Sumatra Governor Gatot Pujo Nugroho, Evy Susanti, who wanted her husband to be “safe” from the investigation by the North Sumatra High Court.

Evy gave 30,000 US dollars to OC Kaligis to be handed over to the judges and clerks of the Medan Administrative Court.
