The concert will be attended by the outstanding mixed choir “Sōla” of the Latvian Academy of Culture, artistic director Kaspars Ādamsons, conductors Laura Štoma and Artūrs Oskars Mitrevics. The soloists of the concert will be violinist Marta Spārniņa, cellist Undīne Balode and organist Ilze Reine.
The concert program includes works by Latvian composers Aivars Kalējs, Bruno Skulte, Emīls Dārziņš, Ēriks Ešenvalds, Jānis Lūsēns, Pēteris Vasks and others.
The mixed choir “Sōla” of the Latvian Academy of Culture was founded in 1998. Sōla’s creative biography includes not only solo concerts with programs from different eras and styles, but also collaborations with other bands on large-scale musical (including dance) projects and participation in charity concerts.
“Sōla” regularly participates in choir competitions and festivals organized in Latvia and elsewhere in the world – both in Europe and America, thus promoting the choir and choral music traditions of Riga and Latvia outside Latvia. The choir has released four albums.
