The Stralsund school landscape is becoming even more diverse.

The unseKinder gGmbH* is in the starting blocks with its planned children’s and youth campus on the site of the former panel works on Heinrich-Heine-Ring.
An interim solution, which has now been found, is required until the building is complete. The rental agreement between the Hanseatic City of Stralsund and unseKinder gGmbH was signed on March 17th.
Mayor Alexander Badrow says: “I think it’s great that our Stralsund school landscape is being expanded to include another building block. It’s important that our Stralsund parents can choose from a wide range of school types. That’s why I’m happy that the children’s and youth campus can now start here at Arnold-Zweig-Strasse 160.”
The planned campus networks and interlocks educational institutions of various kinds and thus offers an all-day educational, upbringing and care concept for children from the age of one.
In addition, local places of learning, living and doing are networked to form an educational landscape that serves as a meeting, learning and reflection space for all people. In the process, the (learning) needs of children in crèches and seniors should be covered. The campus sees itself as a hub that bundles synergies in the region and brings organizations and people into dialogue.
For Fabienne Lüth, Managing Partner of unseKinder gGmbH, this day is a great moment after one and a half years of preparation: “In November 2020 we approached the city and were immediately welcomed with open arms, especially by the Office for Schools and Sports with Dr. Sonja Gelinek at the helm received. What followed were months of intensive work and coordination with the central building management to find a suitable building for the start phase. I am very grateful that we were able to sign the contract now. This way we can start with our concept for the school year 2022/ Start here at Arnold-Zweig-Strasse 160 in 2023. The whole team is very happy about it.”
Looking to the future, Lord Mayor Alexander Badrow says: “The first step has been taken with the signing of the contract for the children’s and youth campus. The next step is to build the children’s and youth campus on the site of the former panel works on Heinrich-Heine-Ring We as the city are creating the conditions for this in terms of planning and building law. There will also be a new daycare center, a new sports hall, a sports field, the St. Nikolai community center and residential development on the site. A new center will be built in Knieper West, I’m looking forward to it .”
