As the big winner of the municipal elections, Leefbaar Zeewolde still wants to try to stop the arrival of Meta’s mega data center to the municipality. That says party leader Tom Zonneveld.
Leefbaar Zeewolde achieved an unprecedented win in the elections. The party doubled the number of seats to ten. As a result, the local party has even become large enough for a majority in the council.
Zonneveld thinks that the game has won because it is Leefbaar Zeewolde that opposes the arrival of the large data center of the parent company of Facebook. He sees the results of the elections as an assignment to try to reverse the decision taken, he says at Broadcasting Flevoland.
“The most important step has of course already been taken, the zoning plan. It will be very difficult to reverse that,” says Zonneveld. “There are possibilities, but they are difficult. What we certainly want to focus on is that we show everywhere that a different wind has started to blow here.”
