The mayor of Lviv, Andriy Sadovyi, reported that the missiles Russia hit the area near the airport in the city in the west Ukraine the. The conflict is getting closer to Poland, a NATO member country.
“The missile hit the area near the Lviv airport. I can’t know the exact location at this time, but it’s definitely not the airport,” Sadovyi said, as reported by Reuters. CNNFriday (18/3).

Sadovyi confirmed this news after several explosions were reportedly heard near Lviv airport at around 6.30 local time. Smoke also billowed from the direction of the Danylo Halytskyi International Airport.
In recent days, Russia has started launching attacks in Lviv. At the beginning of the invasion, this city was considered the safest because it was in the western region of Ukraine, while the Russians began to attack from the east.
