By order of the Minister of Culture, René Phalippou, General Curator of Libraries, has been appointed Deputy Regional Director of Cultural Affairs for Pays de la Loire, from March 1, 2022, for a period of four years.

He joined the Ministry of Culture in 2008 as project manager in the directorate of books and reading, then in 2012 became project manager with the director in charge of books and reading of the General Directorate of Media and cultural industries (DGMIC). In 2014, he was appointed delegate to the Book Mediator, the regulatory body for the sector created by law the same year. Since 2020, he has been responsible for the Creation, Cultural Industry, Cultural and Territorial Action division at the DRAC des Pays de la Loire. In this capacity, he notably implemented support for the cultural sector during the health crisis and then the measures linked to the recovery plan.
