Sanctions against Russia – US moves closer to ending trade facilitation regime with Russia

The House of Representatives decided to terminate normal trade relations with Russia and Belarus. The bill was supported by 424 congressmen.

The document is intended to inflict economic damage on Russia for “an unprovoked and brutal invasion of Ukraine.” Now the bill must be supported by the Senate. A vote in the upper house is scheduled for next week.

After the bill is supported by both chambers, the US may introduce additional duties on Russian products. True, the Russian Federation will be able to appeal against such a step in the arbitration of the World Trade Organization.
