Radio manipulation strike at the hospital

the essential
This Tuesday, March 15, the electroradiology manipulators of the Carcassonne hospital center filed a strike notice in order to obtain recognition of their investment in the management of emergencies and the “lump sum risk premium”.

Accompanied and supported by the union FO des Hospitaliers de Carcassonne, the electroradiology manipulators of the Carcassonne hospital center filed a strike notice on Tuesday, March 15 in order to obtain recognition of their investment in the management of emergencies. A notice which denounces on the one hand the non-possibility for the latter to collect the fixed risk premium, but more broadly this premium system, “granted to some and not to others, while all are doing the same job”, assures the union. Bonuses that the latter judges all at once “divisive and segregationist”having the sole effect “than to create the anger of those who do not touch them”.

Almost the entire population has already passed through their hands, however, “we are quite unknown to the general public”, deplores one of the agents of the Carcassonne hospital center. “We are both technicians and caregivers”, he insists. And to add, “We take care of patients for MRIs, scanners, X-rays. In the operating room, we help surgeons to visualize fractures, for example. We could also mention mammography, coronary angiography… We put catheters in like nurses , we are in contact with the patient, and note that 50% of the patients we observe come straight from the emergency room. For all these reasons, we would like to obtain recognition and the bonus, this fair remuneration”he concludes between firmness and conviction. “Let’s not forget, more broadly, our working conditions, the lack of staff, etc. We are facing a general exhaustion”admits one of the radio manipulations, met this Tuesday.

An ultimatum is given

At the heart of the claims, the fixed risk premium. “We do not touch this bonus, yet allocated to the emergency pole”. One reason for this: “A simple corridor, only 1.80 m, separates the emergencies from the scanner, the MRI and the radio”he explains. “1.80 m… It’s expensive per centimeter. They have a major role in patient access to care and there we quibble to give them a hundred euros? We need unity within the hospital and this unity passes through the recognition of all”, asserts Yannick Bonnafous, head of FO Health in Aude. Following a meeting with the management of the hospital center this Tuesday, March 15, the ultimatum is set: “If we do not get a positive response, in our favor, we will stop the quotations, which allows the hospital to bring in money”say caregivers.

We tried, this Wednesday, to reach the director of the hospital center, but the establishment let us know that he was on the move.
