High cholesterol is when you have too much of a fatty compound called cholesterol in your blood. Like other precursors to a heart attack or stroke, cholesterol works beneath the surface. This is why you need to be able to spot any unusual warning symptoms including the three changes you are experiencing at hand.

The accumulation of cholesterol can clog the blood vessels of the feet and hands. This accumulated cholesterol can appear continuously and make hands and feet hurt. The ‘painful’ sensation felt in this part of the body also indicates that your cholesterol levels are very high.

Small, yellow, flesh-colored or red bumps that are tender can indicate high cholesterol levels, says The American Academy of Dermatology Association.

These lumps appear on the elbows, joints, tendons, knees, hands or feet. These can be lumps or cholesterol deposits, a condition caused by high cholesterol levels or other serious health problems such as pancreatitis.

Some lumps can be very small, while other lumps can be larger than three inches in diameter.
