Among the many ways to stay when traveling or tourism are hotels, rental apartments, the new Airbnb and, finally, the old inns. These are characterized by their privileged location, excellent gastronomy and a historic building, such as castles or manor houses from past centuries.
In all the provinces of Galicia there are historic buildings and enclaves, both for having been a military fortress, a manor of a gentrified family or a castle from hundreds of years ago. In total, in the Galician community there are twelve inns —it is the third after Andalusia and Castilla y León—which are registered in the Paradores Network created in 1928 when the first inn in Spain was opened, in the Sierra de Gredos (Ávila).
the province of Pontevedra has four (Baiona, Cambados, Pontevedra and Tui), being the one with the most. On A Coruña a total of three (Ferrol, Santiago de Compostela and Muxía), as in Lugo (Monforte de Lemos, Ribadeo and Vilalba). Where there is less is in Ourense, with only a couple of them (Ribas de Sil and Verín). In turn, Paradores makes a distinction between those who are buildings with history, those that are in the city and in nature: in Galicia there are five, four and three, respectively. We start the route of the Galician inns from the south to the north.
Parador de Tui
A few steps from the neighboring country and next to the Miño River there is Tui, a city with a lot of history. In the center is a traditional Galician country house, now the parador, in a mountainous and river setting. It was inaugurated more than five decades ago.
It is very close to Mount Aloia and you can practice many river sports and activities in nature. A little over half an hour by car is the town of A Guardaa town of seafaring origin with its skyline starring small colored houses.
It has little more than 60 places distributed in 3 junior suites, 14 superior doubles, 14 doubles and 1 accessible. Book a room at the parador de Tui sale between 150 and 170 euros per nightapproximately in high season.
Baiona Parador
In front of the sea is the Parador de Baiona, in the middle of a walled fortress. In the first place there was a castle, that of Monterreal, but in the 19th century there was already the Elduayen palace. that was where the parador was inaugurated, precisely in the year 1966.
