PRO Sportstech Congress warming up engines and everything is ready for what will be its first edition, which will be held this Wednesday in the Old Estrella Damm Factory (Barcelona). The event, which was born with the aim of being the reference debate space to address the sport-technology binomial, has confirmed the attendance of professionals from key organizations in the transformation of the sector, such as the NBA, Twitter, Meta or Sorare, who will join the main sports properties of the country.
The event, which will bring together more than 200 people in person, will start with a welcome from David Escudé, Councilor for Sports of the Barcelona City Council, sponsor of PRO together with Technogym, Fluidra, Estrella Damm and AS, which acts as a media partner. This welcome will also be joined by Anna Pruna, president of INDESCAT, representing the Catalan sports industry. The project also has the support of the Catalan industry as a whole, whose cluster, Indescat, acts as co-organizer together with 2Playbook.
The first block will be a dialogue between Dídac Lee, an investor and entrepreneur in companies such as Tradeinn, who will present his vision of the challenges and opportunities posed by the sportstech and Marc Menchen, founder of 2Playbook. Then the table will come Innovation and entrepreneurial culture, tandem of the futureO, with the idea of addressing how large organizations and start-ups collaborate to evolve businesses towards digital environments. At this table they will participate; María Carmen Fernández, director of innovation and new businesses at Mediapro; Carlos Trenchs, founder of Aldea Ventures, Pablo Carro, co-founder of Playtomic and David Tapias, director of research and development for Fluidra in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
After this intervention, the second round table will take place where Content is King will be the protagonist. This is a new edition of PRO, which made its debut last June in Madrid, in an event that brought together for two days the main executives of the largest organizations in the country, in a hybrid format that allowed more than 800 people to connect with the different panels of experts online. The event will conclude with the final of the Sports Investment Competition, a competition in which the companies could apply until December 12. After a prior pre-selection by the jury, it will be the audience itself that will be able to vote on six of the start ups that pass to the final phase of the forum, which will serve to close the first edition of PRO Sportstech Congress. The jury reserved a wild card to award the seventh place to that company that, despite not being among the six most voted, shows a clear potential for application in the sports industry.
The companies that received the most votes from the audience are 3D Digital Venue, Clupik, Evix, Improfit, LogMeal NutraSports, MyClub TV y Off Trail Academyand therefore this Wednesday they will face the final decision.
