Wednesday’s race at the French Courchevel / Meribel venue was won by her big rival Mikaela Shiffrin and the American is 156 points ahead of the final three competitions.
The Italian Sofia Goggio won a small globe for the descent.
Shiffrin won by a tenth over the Austrian Christina Scheyer and the Swiss Joana Hählen, who finished in second place. Goggio was twelve (+0.68 s) and Vlhová lost 78 hundreds.
The competition had three fronts, in addition to the winners of the race itself, the globes were also decided.
Goggie’s Swiss Corinne Suter was not threatened with a weaker performance, so the champion and the unlucky fast slip, despite the falls and injuries, enjoyed defending the seasonal title, the third overall in her career. This happened at the beginning of the race.

“I’m really happy, the season was, in my view, like a roller coaster,” said the Italian, who suffered a knee injury in January but managed to return to the Beijing Olympics, where she won silver in the downhill.
At the end of the competition, the situation in the micro duel of two superstars of downhill skiing for a big globe resolved. His lawyer Petra Vlhová gave a brave performance, in the meantime she kept pace with the top ten, but landed in the finish line as sixteenth, three hundred by 16 points.
“A cruel convention for Vlhová,” Eurosport commentators responded.

The moisture point loss thus increased to the maximum in the middle, as Shiffrin showed a great ride, clean in long turns and predatory in breakthrough curves.
Her important 100-point shot also meant her third downhill triumph and her 73rd overall in the World Championships.
“I had a perfect day. It wasn’t a plan, but I’m glad I have such a big lead at the top of the overall standings. However, nothing has been decided yet, “said the American woman.
Shiffrin can seal the overall triumph in the World Cup on Thursday in the super-G.
Vlhová smiled after the race despite the loss. She told TASR: “I am satisfied with myself because I did what I wanted to do. I wanted to improve with each ride, even though it’s 16th. But sometimes it’s like that. “
