Rodez: Paraire and Foch switch to British time

the essential
At the start of the next school year, pupils in kindergarten at the Paraire school will benefit from three hours of early learning lessons in English, per week. Those of the Foch school will have a reinforcement of this language. The reception of children under 3 years old will also take place at the start of the school year.

The Foch/Paraire schools will experience something new at the start of the school year. In September, children attending kindergarten at the Paraire school will be able to follow three hours of early learning lessons, per week, in English. At the Ferdinand-Foch school, CP students will be able to take advantage of an hour and a half of English lessons in physical education and sports, music and visual arts. An hour and a half which will be added to the hour and a half of English already taught.

These three hours of English per week are not an end in themselves. The number of hours is indeed set to grow in this public school. This system is part of the one called Emile (Teaching of a subject integrated into a foreign language), a system designed in close collaboration with the departments of National Education.

In Rodez, it completes the measures already existing in the other schools. Let us cite, for example, the bilingual Occitan linguistic course at the Monteil/Cambon kindergarten, the allophone class at the Flaugergues school, the orchestra system at school within the Ramadier and Gourgan school groups.

In another register, let us also remember that a maternal unit called “autism” has been set up at the Jean-Albert-Bessière school.

In addition, Ruthenian schools will welcome children under the age of 3 from the start of the school year in September (and who turned 2 before August 31). Depending on the places available (there would be about ten, according to Fabienne Castagnos, child and family assistant at the town hall of Rodez), families will be able to access the school under conditions (cleanliness of the child, autonomy …).

Registration before May 31

To this end and more broadly for the next school year, the town hall has set up a registration procedure for nursery and elementary schools (the procedure only concerns new registrants). Families have until May 31 to send their complete file, by email ([email protected]). People who do not have internet access can go to the neighborhood centers (Gourgan and Saint-Éloi) or to the one-stop service at the town hall.

Once registration is finalized, families will receive a registration certificate which they will present to the school for the admission of their child.
