TRIBUNJOGJA.COM, KULON PROGO – Even though it will be entering the dry season, the people of West Progo asked to remain vigilant against diseases caused by the bite of the Aedes aegypti mosquito.
This is because the local Health Service (Dinkes) recorded 294 cases until the tenth week of 2022.
The Head of Disease Prevention and Control (P2P) of the Kulon Progo District Health Office, Rina Nuryati said that the 294 cases were both dengue fever (DB) and dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF).
Of the number of cases, there have been no reports of deaths and less than 50 percent of patients being treated at the hospital.
On average, the patients treated were in moderate to severe conditions.
However, there is no delay in handling the patient so that it can still be handled.
“Hopefully until the end of this year no one has died. Because the death rate is an indicator for services DBD . If there is a patient DBD those who died, we have to improve services,” said Rina when met at the Health Office West Progo Wednesday (16/3/2022).
Entering the dry season, he asked the public to remain vigilant against the disease. Because the current weather is uncertain.

“Sometimes it still rains so there is a potential for mosquito breeding places. So it is necessary to watch out for the community,” he said.
Of West Progo this disease occurs a lot in the areas of Wates, Pengasih and Sentolo due to population density.
Thus, there needs to be prevention efforts through the jumantik movement (later monitoring).
Rina said this movement has been intensified again in the Lendah and Pengasih regions. ( Tribunjogja.com )
