One of the most successful teams in the NBA will face one of its most disappointing teams. The LA Lakers travel to Phoenix to face the Suns. Despite having some of the best players in the world, LeBron’s Lakers are struggling on the court and desperate for good results.

Sealing first place in the Western Conference standings is Phoenix’s sole focus at this point in the season. What will make it difficult against the Lakers is that the Suns go into this game without the services of veteran Chris Paul and rely on superstar Devin Booker. Under coach Monty Williams, the Suns’ incredible offense and reliable defense caused all sorts of problems for the rest of the league. Certainly due to the absence of CP3, their last match was quite disappointing. The Phoenix failed to beat the modest Toronto Raptors. The franchise will want to forget this disappointing game and beat the Lakers this Sunday night.

With Chris Paul out of the equation, one man will have to carry Phoenix against LA: Devin Booker. Fullback has been key to the Suns’ success this season and under CP3’s guidance, Booker has become a basketball great. He’s averaging 25 points per game in his last three for the Suns, and should put up a great game against the often passive Lakers defense.

One of the biggest disappointments for Los Angeles this season is that the team has won only 9 of its 30 away games. However, as mentioned, the Lakers are in luck as the Suns will be without the services of Chris Paul. This trip to Phoenix is made much easier by this. On the other hand, the fact remains that the Lakers have a lot of trouble on the floor and desperately need good results. They have lost seven of their last ten games. LeBron and his teammates come into this game hoping to build on their incredible win over the Washington Wizards, but it will be tough.

While the Lakers are having a terrible season, ironically, the King is arguably putting in his best performance yet. LeBron James is averaging 43 points per game in his last three appearances with the Lakers. The absence of Anthony Davis through injury forced the ex-Cavalier to step forward for the Lakers and he did. He is expected to take on a lot of responsibility again this Sunday against the Suns.
