DARMSTADT – Torsten Lieberknecht, coach of the second division soccer team SV Darmstadt 98, kept his word: his family took in a woman and her son who fled the Ukraine.

The 48-year-old announced a few days ago in a match day press conference that this had been discussed in his family. The contact with the Ukrainians came about through a woman from Darmstadt, as the club confirmed when asked.
