Deputy Chief of Staff of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky – Igor Zhovkva, said he was moderately optimistic about the progress of negotiations with Russia.
According to him, in previous talks, Moscow was not ready to hear Kyiv’s position and issued ultimatums. “That Ukraine must surrender, surrender its weapons, that our president will sign a capitulation. “Now Russia is speaking in a slightly different tone,” Zhovkva said.
He added that the dialogue has now become more constructive. “We are talking about a future agreement, about certain guarantees for Ukraine after the end of the war. We are moderately optimistic, but we understand that a major breakthrough in the negotiations will be achieved with the participation of the heads of state, “he added.
Earlier, the chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk said that negotiations with Russia “are not as easy as any country would like”, but a compromise is possible.
