She has two family houses, an apartment and a cottage, he has two apartments at lucrative Prague addresses. They have been a stable couple for almost 14 years, but now Veronika Žilková and Martin Stropnický are divorcing. And so the question arises as to what will happen to the division of fairytale property.
The news of their divorce came as a blow from clear skies. Stropnický announced Žilková, that he no longer loves her and wants to end the marriage, after the e-mail. She still works as an ambassador to Israel, but the actress is back in Prague a long time ago.
When they got married in 2008, they were already middle-aged, so they managed to amass not very small assets. Žilková thought of the back door because of her six children and concluded a marriage contract with Stropnický. Divorce will therefore not endanger her in this regard. She will be left with family houses in Suchdol and Tluchoměřice, an apartment in Roztoky near Prague and a cottage in the Orlické Mountains, which she inherited from her parents.
In the same way, Stropnický does not have to worry about his two flats in Prague’s Holešovice and Vinohrady. As a member of parliament for the YES movement, the former Minister of Defense had to publish the entire property declaration ten years ago. In addition to the apartments, it owns two other cars.
“Due to the existence of a marriage contract concluded on the occasion of my marriage to my wife Veronika Žilková, I do not own any other property that could flow from the marriage,” he said in a statement at the time.
The couple is still likely to share only what they bought during the marriage. But it will certainly not be a problem for them to agree.
