AMD’s “sale” in April will be richer, a quad-core Zen 3 or Renoir-X is also planned

Last week, we presented you with a list of processors that AMD will enrich this spring. These are mostly more affordable models that will compete with Intel’s Core i3 / i5 from the architectural line. Alder Lake. According to recent reports, it looks like at least some of the cheaper Ryzen could go on the market on April 4 (ie in three weeks), while April 20 will be reserved as the desktop premiere of V-cache: Ryzen 7 5800X3D.

We are also learning that the range of new models will be slightly wider. There was a fragmentary information about the 65W Ryzen 7 5700 (which will differ from the already mentioned Ryzen 7 5700X, among other things, half – 16MB – L3 cache), it should also be a quad-core 65W Ryzen 3 5100, which at least for now looks like an active SMT ( i.e. eight threads) and a row Renoir-Xie “Zen 2 APU without graphics ”will be added by Ryzen 7 4700, which will be equipped with a full number of 8 cores / 16 fibers.

In total, the April portfolio will bring ten new models. In addition (in contrast to the current one), it will incredibly diversify the product range. You can choose different number of cores, different architectures, different cache capacities and in all cases active SMT (2 × more threads compared to the number of cores). In short, it looks almost too good not to have a catch. Therefore, I would dare to worry that, for example, the three newly added models (Ryzen 7 5700 / Ryzen 3 5100 / Ryzen 7 4700) will not be intended only for the OEM segment.
