Mayoo Indiran: – – Similarities with prison

Two days before Christmas Eve in 2016, he became a former “Paradise Hotel” participant Mayoo Indiran (31) arrested by the police in his own home.

He was then charged with a felony drug offense.

The reality profile was simultaneously remanded in custody until 21 January with a letter and visit ban. Oslo District Court extended the remand prison by four new weeks, but on 10 February 2017 – one week before the four weeks expired – he was released from Ullersmo prison.

However, the charge was upheld, however in the autumn of 2020, the case against him was finally dropped of the Oslo Public Prosecutor’s Office. Indiran has always denied criminal guilt.

Now the 31-year-old says that he understands both that the police suspected him in the case, and that the system is as it is. What he thought was sad, however, was to see his own face adorn several newspaper front pages.

– It’s hard to be hung out in the media, at least before you are convicted. They could wait to post a picture of me and my name in the media until I had possibly been convicted, but they did not, he says to Dagbladet.

The TV profile thinks it was especially difficult to see how the media reports affected people around him.

– It was very sad, because it went not only beyond me, but also those around me. My family, mom and dad, they did not deserve it at all, says the 31-year-old.

– But today they can be proud of me, and I’m happy about that.

The reality profile draws some parallels between participation and time in custody, for example when it comes to factors such as time pressure and dealing with disciplinary people.

– I draw some similarities between the officer and the prison officer, for example. I get food served, and it is not quality food, neither in the barracks nor out in the fields – and the same when you get food in prison, he admits.

Stories for their future children

His time in prison taught the TV profile to appreciate life outside the prison cell more.

– When I was in custody, I remember that I was very broken and sad because of my freedom. We humans need to appreciate our freedom and being free, do what we want, eat what we want and talk to and associate with those we want. It is so important, he emphasizes.

From his time in prison, he also learned to appreciate all experiences more. He decided to live life as an adventure, so that he could tell his future children about everything he has experienced in life, he says.
