VAT reduction on gas and electricity, fuel oil check and fuel excise tax reduction: government reaches energy agreement

The federal government has reached an agreement on tackling high energy prices. Until the end of September, the VAT on electricity and gas will be reduced to 6 percent. There will be a check for 200 euros for fuel oil users. At the pump, the excise duties for diesel and petrol will be reduced by 0.175 euros per liter. The broad social rate will also be extended until the end of September.
