Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba on Monday spoke with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, Reuters reports.

The background for the conversation is probably that it became known on Monday that Amir-Abdollahian is traveling to Moscow to discuss a possible nuclear deal. On Tuesday, he will meet with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

The nuclear talks mean that Iran still sees Russia as one of its important allies. Iran was also among the 35 countries that abstained from voting on a proposal in the UN General Assembly to demand that Russia stop its offensive and withdraw troops from Ukraine.
