Tochka-U ballistic missile hits Donetsk, 17 civilians killed

DONETSK – A Tochka-U ballistic missile hit Donetsk, the capital of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), on Monday (14/3/2022). The incident took place in the midst of Russia’s military campaign in Ukraine.

DPR military spokesman Eduard Basurin said the missile was intercepted and destroyed in midair, but that one of its explosive parts managed to hit the city.

Defense officials from the DPR reported that as many as 17 people were killed and 28 people were injured.

“If the missiles had not been shot down, we would have had more victims,” ​​DPR leader Denis Pushilin told the media.

He added that part of the missile fell in central Donetsk, not far from the main government building.
