Fifa has decided that all foreign players have the right to leave their Russian clubs until June 30 as a result of the war and several Swedes who played in Russia have chosen to go home. Dennis Hadzikadunic is on loan from Rostov to Malmö FF, Axel Björnström has left Arsenal Tula for AIK and Viktor Claesson, whose contract extends until the summer, is at home in Sweden and trains with IFK Värnamo.
But at the moment, Jordan Larsson seems to remain in Spartak Moscow. The club’s sports director Luca Cattani believes that none of the foreign players have yet expressed a desire to leave.
– Everything is okay with us, the players play. Now in the locker room, I did not see any player who had the suitcase with him, he says according to Sport Express.
Larsson has a past in Helsingborgs IF and Andreas Granqvist, who is sports director in HIF, has confirmed contact with the attacker, who then had neither given a yes nor a no to the Swedish club. But that does not worry Cattani.
– It is normal in football. I’m not worried about that. You find players, you lose players. I think Helsingborg will also lose a player at some point.
From HIF’s perspective, the situation remains the same as last week.
– I have a dialogue with him in general and he knows that if he would like to move home, I would very much like to have him home, but it is not more than that but it may come when he feels that he is ready for a decision in that case . I have only checked the situation how his situation is and if he would leave and play elsewhere. It depends a bit on him, what he wants and his conditions, Granqvist says to Fotbollskanalen.
If Jordan wants to come home, how do you view competition from IFK Norrköping?
– Haha, no, I do not see it as a major competition in that way, but it is up to the player himself in that case to decide where he will play, if he is going home to Sweden, so to speak. Right now I do not know what Jordan wants, it may very well be that he remains in Spartak or goes elsewhere but I have only shown my interest in knowing him and his family very well so he should know that he is always welcome to Helsingborgs IF, says “Granen”.
Jordan Larsson started on the bench and was substituted in the 75th minute in the loss against Krasnodar on Sunday.
