“We have siblings in our industry who are struggling, who are or have been able to flee Ukraine and who have families at risk,” the British actor, who was nominated in the ‘Best Actor’ category, told Sky news’. The situation in the country is something that he says “hangs over them”. There needs to be more than just wearing a pin, he believes, such as donating, but also getting politicians to create a “safe haven” for refugees from the country. The actor himself also wears a pin in the colors of the Ukrainian flag. “Everyone should do as much as they can,” the actor continued. “I think the news has already come out that a record number of people are volunteering to take people into their homes. I hope to be a part of that myself.”
