Russia’s damage to Ukraine’s infrastructure is approaching $ 120 billion
Kiev, March 14, LETA – UKRAINE. Russian troops have damaged Ukraine’s infrastructure by more than $ 119 billion (107 billion euros) since the invasion began on Feb. 24, Ukraine’s first deputy economy minister, Denis Kudin, said on Monday.
He added that as the war continued, the damage was growing every day.
The Ukrainian Ministry of Economy will start calculating the war-induced losses on Ukraine’s gross domestic product (GDP) in April.
“In terms of GDP, we will only be able to compile the end of the first full month since the economy went into military mode. In April, we will be able to compile the March interim results and then give a specific figure,” Kudin said.
He noted that the Ministry of Economy estimates the damage caused by the war in Ukraine according to two approaches. In addition to calculating GDP losses, the ministry also takes into account damage to public infrastructure.
