Do you often experience indigestion continuously? Be careful, should watch out for indications of colorectal cancer. Defecation (BAB) is not smooth or even bloody, including among them.
However, is it true that frequent farts and flatulence are symptoms of colon cancer?
Speaking in the webinar for Early Detection and Management of Colorectal Cancer, cancer surgeon Dr. Fajar Firsyada listed five symptoms of colorectal cancer that often occur.
These symptoms are:
- CHAPTER not finished
- diarrhea for days
- bloody stool
- weight loss drastically
- weak and limp.
According to him, frequent farts and bloating are not always symptoms of colorectal cancer, but can be symptoms of other diseases.
“Not only the case of bloating is a suspicion of cancer. It could also be in cases of colitis or infection in the large intestine, where the production of germs in the large intestine produces gas so that you fart a lot,” explained Dr. Fajar.
If you feel bloated and farted frequently, you should do a stool examination and also perform a colonoscopy.
“From there (colonoscopy) can be seen whether it is normal or there is an abnormality, either in the form of inflammation, colitis, or proctitis. So that it can be treated properly and correctly to eliminate the risk of colon cancer,” he added.
Colonoscopy examination is also useful for early detection of the risk of colon cancer in patients with polyps. Generally, polyps are benign. However, if it is too late, it will turn malignant and become cancer.
