Alpine has proven to be reliable and fast so far during its test days in Bahrain, wrinkles are starting to smooth out a bit with Fernando Alonso and his team.
In Barcelona, questions and doubts surrounded Alpine’s attempts, and in Bahrain, after three days of testing, we could see much happier faces at the French barn. Fernando Alonso was in third place at the end of the test day, but Haas was able to pull in another hour, so Mick Schumacher came in second place in the extra time.
Thus, the two-time world champion Spanish, who, like many others, ran their best lap in Bahrain on the closing day, finished in fourth place. Although nearly a second behind Max Verstappen, he ran his best time with a mixture that was one tougher than the Dutchman (with a C4).
Alonso and Alpine are much happier than they were a few days ago
