After eighteen years of suffering, the ax fell just before the spring 2020 confinement, for Charlène Daviau, resident of Chartres (Eure-et-Loir), when she was 29 years old.
The diagnosis is written on the paper: the young woman has endometriosis. Sanitary restrictions oblige, she finds herself alone and realizes how “it is complicated to seek treatment” for this disease which remains without magical treatment.
Charlene gets closer to the EndoFrance association to learn to live with this gynecological disease, a precious help in her fight. “The fight against endometriosis must also move in Eure-et-Loir”, confides this patient.
A future unmissable event?
With his contacts, elected officials from the Chartres conurbation and the Luisant athletics club headed by Didier Laurent, himself the father of a young woman with endometriosis, a small group of citizens gathered around a joint project.
There is a march for the fight against breast cancer in Chartres, one against cystic fibrosis, we said to ourselves, why not the R’Endo, to raise awareness of the cause.
2 or 5 kilometers
This solidarity march will take place on Saturday March 26, 2022 at 5 p.m., departing fromShiny pond, near the tavern. The first loop goes around this natural space, either two kilometers and the second loop extends towards the Barjouville lake, with a course of five kilometers.
“With us, it’s one euro per kilometre,” explains Charlène. You will therefore have to pay €2 for the first loop and €5 for the second.
Proceeds from this hike, open to all, will be donated to the EndoFrance association.
The yellow ribbon as the red thread of this day
By having several partners, the R’Endo de Luisant will set up different stands, from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., before the start of this solidarity march. Registration and collection of bibs will be done on site.
Everyone can wear a yellow ribbon, color disease symbol. Goodies will be distributed to participants, expected to number around a few hundred.
The opportunity to meet
Outraged sporting and charitable aspects of this new meeting in the agglomeration of Chartres, the R’Endo will be able “to allow sick women to meet and exchange, to feel less alone, but the men are also concerned, because they live with us” , assures Charlene.
