There Won’t Be New iMac Pro and Mac Pro Until 2023

.There Won’t Be New iMac Pro and Mac Pro Until 2023

Selular.ID – Apple is preparing to launch a number of new Mac devices, and Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo recently predicted it for Apple’s desktop roadmap. He said he expected Apple to ship a high-end Mac mini this year, as well as Apple’s 27-inch external display. However, the iMac Pro and Mac Pro won’t arrive until 2023.

The 2023 roadmap for the iMac Pro and Mac Pro is a bit disappointing, given Apple’s originally announced schedule for transitioning all of its products within two years.

Apple started the M1 transition in October 2020, so expects it to be completed by the end of 2022. However, it’s possible that the company faces production delays, especially given the ongoing chip shortage and general covid-related disruption, as it made that original claim.

The more powerful Mac mini coming this year corroborates earlier rumors, as Apple wants to replace the remaining Intel Mac mini configurations with Apple Silicon options.

In fact, high-end Mac minis with built-in M1 Pro and M1 Max chips are expected to arrive as early as next week, at Apple’s ‘Peek performance’ event on March 8.

Apple’s external display is likely to be more affordable than the Pro Display XDR, in part because it’s smaller and less technically advanced, such as the lack of mini-LED backlight technology.

The report cites sources as saying that Apple has no plans for a larger-screen iMac product category, at least in the near future. This source also leaked information about Mac Studio and Studio Display, which proved to be true.

A number of parties regretted Apple’s decision not to update the rumored 27-inch iMac or iMac Pro. This means that consumers who want an iMac will have to settle for the 24-inch screen option introduced in 2021.

These consumers can also choose to buy Studio Display which comes with an option of 27-inch screen size and 5K resolution and combine it with Mac mini or Mac Studio, although the performance provided by Mac Studio is predicted to be closer to the performance of Intel models when compared to Mac mini.
