Photo: Ilgner, Detlef (ilg)/Ilgner Detlef (ilg) – – Mönchengladbach After the Niederrheinische Sinfoniker gave a solidarity concert in the Schaffrath furniture store at the weekend, the company has now financially supported their commitment to the “Germany helps Ukraine” campaign. The concert took place in an unusual setting: 54 musicians from the Niederrheinische Sinfoniker played on a Saturday at the best shopping time in the spiral of the furniture store in Mönchengladbach. The music they chose included a slow Beethoven movement and a soulful cello piece entitled “La tristesse” by a Ukrainian composer. The purpose of the impromptu concert was to collect donations for Ukrainians who are currently fleeing and need help. And the goal was achieved: on the day of the concert, more than 3,600 euros were collected, which the listeners donated in the furniture store or were collected online. The Schaffrath Group has now increased this amount. – “It was very impressive and touching to see the reactions and feelings this concert triggered. Our thoughts are with the people of Ukraine who are going through a cruel and terrible time. Having to experience war is one of the worst things that can happen to a person and we are stunned that this is happening in the middle of Europe in 2022,” say Friedhelm and Renate Schaffrath. In order to support the symphonic musicians’ campaign, Schaffrath donated 5,000 euros to “Germany helps Ukraine”. Cyril Schaffrath handed over the donation to Martin Kallnischkies, the orchestra director of the Niederrheinische Sinfoniker. – Michael Grosse, artistic director of the theaters in Krefeld and Mönchengladbach, is delighted with the success of the concert: “As artists, it is very important to us to raise our voices against violence and war. If we succeed with our means in persuading other people to show solidarity with those who need our help, that is a special reason to be happy.” Recently, the symphonic musicians have repeatedly performed outside of the classical halls. Now Schaffrath and the orchestra are considering whether the old riding hall at the furniture store could also become the venue. – – Related posts:Hochul Warns New Yorkers of Possible Cyber Attacks | Univision 41 New York WXTV"Occupation Authorities of Crimea Claim Two Missiles from Ukrainian Grom-2 Missile System Shot Down,...ICC prosecutor responds to the Venezuelan government and refuses to postpone the investigationADGP MR Ajithkumar controversy: ADGP splashed, PV Anwar reacts; Jalil that the last wicket has falle...
