Dogan’s uncle stopped again, owes BGN 37.5 million, but sells electricity on the stock exchange (Obzor)

TPP “Varna”

Varna TPP, whose majority owner is the honorary chairman of the MRF, Ahmed Dogan, is again closed due to suspended gas supplies.

The plant’s liabilities to Bulgargaz are BGN 37.5 million, it became clear from the answer of the Minister of Energy Alexander Nikolov to a question from the MP from “Democratic Bulgaria” Ivaylo Mirchev.

On February 1, Bulgargaz suspended gas supplies to Varna TPP and set a March 10 deadline for payment of debts. “The company will take all measures provided by law to collect the accumulated receivables, which include seizure of bank accounts of the debtor, the initiation of claims and enforcement proceedings with appropriate precautionary measures,” said the Minister of Energy.

Although it is not working, the tec sold 110 megawatts of electricity earlier this month through auctions on the energy exchange. The electricity must be delivered next month, which means the plant has to pay its debts to produce it.

For the second time, TPP Varna runs out of gas due to debts. On December 15 last year the supply of fuels was stopped due to accumulated liabilities of nearly BGN 25 million. They were paid after the teak sold electricity on the stock exchange for over BGN 27 million.
