Arrive New York a few days before the transfer deadline, Cam Reddish will not really have had the opportunity to show its potential in its new colors. In the victory against Sacramento on Monday, the winger injured his right shoulder in an attempt to block on Davion Mitchell. Appearing in the Knicks locker room with his arm in a sling during the following Dallas game, Reddish underwent further examinations which revealed a separation of the shoulder from a tear or a stretch. The Knicks medical staff estimate his recovery six weeks minimum, which means that the former Hawk should not set foot on the floor until next season.
Exchange against Kevin KnoxCam Reddish was expected to boost the second unit of the Knicks thanks to his scoring skills. But, as soon as he joined the team, Tom Thibodeau hinted that he was not part of the plans in his rotations. In his first 11 games with the Big Apple, Reddish received only 20 minutes of playing time from his coach. It was only very recently that he finally found his place in the roster: 7.0 points 44.2% on shots in 16 minutes over the last 10 meetings. Unfortunately, he will not have the opportunity to climb the Knicks hierarchy. Under contract with New York for the 2022-23 season with a salary of 6 million, he is eligible for a contract extension this offseason. But, given its performance, it is very difficult to believe that the franchise will immediately release the checkbook.
