JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Corruption Eradication Commission (NCP) submit a report on alleged ethical violations against the Chairperson of the KPK Firli Bahuri to the Board of Supervisors (Adults) of the KPK.
The report was submitted by Indonesia Calling 57+ Institute. In his report, Firli is suspected of using SMS blast for personal gain.
“Of course we completely surrender to KPK Board of Supervisors because it is in accordance with its duties and authorities as under the KPK Law,” said Acting KPK Spokesperson Ali Fikri at a press conference at the KPK Red and White Building, Jakarta, Friday (11/3/2022).
Ali believes that the Supervisory Board will follow up on every report submitted by the public.
According to him, the Dewas already has standard operating procedures that regulate how to follow up on every report from the public.

“We are confident that the KPK Supervisory Board will dig up the facts professionally,” said Ali.
In its report, the IM57+ Institute suspects that Firli Bahuri has arbitrarily used KPK facilities financed by the state budget for his personal interests.
This is done by conveying messages via SMS that are not related to the implementation of his duties and responsibilities as the Chair of the KPK.
“We suspect that the reported party has arbitrarily used KPK facilities financed by the state budget for his personal interests in the form of using SMS Blast messages,” said IM57+ Institute Senior Investigator Rizka Anungnata, through a press statement, Friday.
Rizka explained that the report on the alleged ethical violation against Firli departed from the confessions of several people who received short SMS blast messages from the Indonesian KPK.
However, the content of the message is not related to anti-corruption values and instead contains a personal message on behalf of the Chairman of the KPK.

“The message also went viral and became a public discussion on social media,” said Rizka.
According to the former KPK investigator, the message on behalf of the KPK has become a public spotlight because it is only in the name of the Chairperson of the KPK.
In addition, he said, the message also did not contain anti-corruption values or related to the implementation of his duties and responsibilities as chairman of the KPK.
For this matter, Firli Bahuri is suspected of violating the Basic Values of Integrity as stated in Article 4 Paragraph (1) letter d, Paragraph (1) letter o, and Paragraph (2) letter i of the Regulation of the Supervisory Board of the Corruption Eradication Commission of the Republic of Indonesia Number 02 of 2020 concerning Enforcement of the Corruption Eradication Commission’s Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct.
