Major General Andrei Sukhovetsky is one of the leaders of the military forces Russia who died during the aggression in Ukraine.
The news of his death has also been confirmed by the Russian government. Military sources said Sukhovetsky was shot dead by snipers of Ukrainian forces on Monday (28/2).
“[Sukhovetsky tewas] while carrying out combat missions during special operations in Ukraine,” the Russian government said in a statement CNN.
Sukhovetsky’s final identity was the general commander of the Russian 7th Airborne Division. In addition, he is also the deputy commander of the 41st Joint Army.
Sukhovetsky was born in an area in Russia called Novosibirsk. He was born in 1974, although not much of his personal information is known, given that he is all top military officers.
The 47-year-old man was educated at a military academy and began his career as a platoon commander. Thereafter, he rose through the ranks and took on a number of leadership positions, including chief of staff of the escort air raid unit.
According to CNNIndonesia.com sources, Sukhovetsky took part in the Russian military campaign in Syria. He was also reportedly involved in campaigns in Abkhazia and the North Caucasus, as well as playing a role in the ‘annexation’ of Crimea
Reporting Newsweek, a Ukrainian-language service outlet said he had twice participated in the Victory Parade on Red Square and had been awarded two Orders of Courage.
Sukhovetsky was also a respected parachutist. He was also assigned on a mission in “hostile territory”.
