The Supreme Court (MA) dismissed the illegal issue of holiday package gratification behind the circumcision verdict Edhy Prabowo from 9 years in prison to 5 years in prison. The Supreme Court explained that the Supreme Court justices and MA employees had indeed scheduled a joint vacation long before Edhy Prabowo’s verdict.
“The information is not true,” said the spokesman for the Supreme Court, Andi Samsan Nganro, to reporters, Friday (11/3/2022).
According to Andi, the Edhy Prabowo case was decided according to a predetermined schedule as a form of responsibility. He said Sofyan Sitompul must finalize decisions, including the Edhy Prabowo case, before April 2022.
“So the information is not true,” said Andi Samsan Nganro.
The Supreme Court also dismissed information that Sofyan Sitompul treated all staff members to vacation in Bali. Andi said that Sofyan’s co-workers in the Supreme Court’s criminal chamber several months ago made a program to release Supreme Court judge Sofyan Sitompul, who had been serving in the Supreme Court’s criminal chamber.
“The release ceremony was agreed upon and the initiative from friends in the criminal chamber set the place and schedule. So the release of Mr. Sofyan has nothing to do with the defendant’s case decision. Edhy Prabowo which happened to break up on March 7, 2022 before the release of Mr. Sofyan,” said Andi, who is also the Deputy Chair of the Supreme Court for Judicial Affairs.
“Because the release event was designed several months ago. The event was not Pak Sofyan’s initiative,” he continued.
