The blockade of deliveries to Russia has been announced by the Sony Interactive Entertainment division, which is in charge of entertainment systems. In addition to PlayStation game consoles, she is also in charge of virtual reality systems.

“We are joining the global call for a ceasefire in Ukraine. As a result, we have suspended all software and hardware deliveries to Russia, as well as the PlayStation Store in that country, ”said Sony Interactive Entertainment.

In detail, the company emphasizes that the Russians will not see, for example, the expected car simulator Gran Turismo 7. The malfunction of the PlayStation Store then prevents the Russians from buying games, but also access to previously purchased titles or subscriptions to PlayStation Plus.

Japanese gaming giant Nintendo has also taken the same step. Representatives of the company announced that they had stopped all deliveries of Switch consoles to Russia. However, they did not officially link it to the violence in Ukraine, but to “logistical and distribution problems”.

However, Nintendo also suspended the possibility of payments in its online store in Russia, which essentially eliminates the possibility of purchasing software.
