Tinder scammer scammed of 6,000 euros on Instagram

The scammer. Shimon Hayut, alias Simon Levievknown for stealing large sums of money from women he met through a dating app, has himself been ensnared on Instagram.

From from a professional scammer, the trap however seemed crude. Shimon Hayut was contacted by a person posing as the companion of a high-ranking person at Meta, the parent company of Facebook and, therefore, d’Instagram. She wanted to help him in his quest for certification.

6,000 sent via PayPal

In video call, the so-called employee of Meta manages to make him believe that he is on the premises of the company. And to tell him that to have the fake accounts deleted, it was enough to pay a sum of around 6,000 dollars. Without waiting, Shimon Hayut sent the said sum to a PayPal address.

Shimon Hayut recently signed with a manager in order to develop his career in the entertainment world, and it was this manager who finally dispelled the case by immediately calling Meta. The scam is confirmed: Meta ensures that no payment is necessary to obtain the certification of an Instagram account. The couple who received the money have disappeared.
