One month before the first round of the presidential election and in a context of international crisis with the war in Ukraine, the PS mayor of Dijon François Rebsamen is the guest of France Bleu Bourgogne this Thursday, March 10. Between 7:30 a.m. and 7:50 a.m., the former socialist minister will answer questions from the editorial staff.
What help does the city of Dijon intend to provide to the Ukrainian population? How to raise the challenge of welcoming refugees who fled the war? François Rebsamen will also explain himself on this announcement which has raised questions in recent days: the mayor of Dijon says he now supports Emmanuel Macron in the presidential election, while remaining a socialist.
A “at the same time” socialist
Under these conditions, what future for the PS in Côte-d’Or? Because this is indeed a new setback for the Socialist Party, already in great difficulty in this campaign. The mayor of Dijon, therefore, loose the socialist candidate Anne Hidalgo, left behind in the opinion polls.
“We must accept that socialists vote for the outgoing President”, Michel Neugnot secretary of the PS in Côte-d’Or
In Côte-d’Or, a third of the PS section ensures to follow the choice of François Rebsamen, and will support the outgoing President from the first round. “You have to accept it if the PS wants to rebuild” insists Michel Neugnot, secretary of the PS in Côte-d’Or.
The Vice-President of the Regional Council shows up realistic as the national deadline approaches :”Nobody believes that our candidate will be present in the 2nd round. we can’t act like everything is fine. The risk is that to the political defeat is added a financial fiasco if we do not reach 5%. This is why the majority of elected socialists are calling for support for Anne Hidalgo. But we must welcome with great kindness the socialists who will vote for Emmanuel Macron. He is a political adversary but there is a principle of reality.”
The two other thirds of the PS section in Côte-d’Or claim to remain loyal to Anne Hidalgo. They will continue to push their candidate to the end, to try to limit the damage and obtain the 5% of votes necessary to reimburse the campaign.
