Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Since Apple no longer includes charger in the iPhone sales box, several mobile phone vendors are doing the same thing. For example, Samsung, which started selling phones without a charger when it launched the Galaxy S21 series.
So far, Samsung’s mid-range phones, such as the Galaxy A and Galaxy M series, are still being sold with charger in the packaging box. But it looks like this policy will change.
Citing the Phone Arena page, Wednesday (9/3/2022), Samsung recently launched the Galaxy A13 5G and Galaxy A03s in the United States. According to information on the official Samsung US website, these two phones do not have a charger in the box.
In the ‘What’s in the box’ section of Samsung’s US online store, the packaging box for the Galaxy A13 5G and Galaxy A03s only contains the phone, USB-C cable and pin ejector.
The new Galaxy A13 and A03 have a jumbo battery capacity of 5000mAh, and Samsung recommends that users use a 15W charger for extra power.
In the ‘Key features’ there is a note that says that charger for this phone sold separately. Users are advised to use Samsung original chargers and cables.
“Chargers sold separately, use only Samsung approved chargers and cables. To avoid injury or damage to your device, do not use incompatible, worn or damaged batteries, chargers or cables. Supports Fast Charging up to 15W.” wrote Samsung.
It seems that this is not the only series of phones. The new Galaxy A23, as well as other budget phones from the M-series that Samsung has released in select markets, will also ship without a charger in the box.
This marks a new era when it comes to green, or cost-effective, charging for the world.
