Samsung’s statement comes after the Lapsus $ hacking group announced via its Telegram channel over the weekend that it had stolen 190 gigabytes of the company’s confidential source code. Samsung did not name any specific hackers or what data was stolen in its statement.

“We have learned that there has been a security breach in connection with certain internal company data. Immediately after the incident was discovered, we strengthened our security system, “said a Samsung spokesman. “According to our initial analysis, the breach affects some of the source code related to the operation of the Galaxy, but does not include personal information about our customers or employees.”

In addition to smartphones, Samsung also sells tablets under the Galaxy brand.

Lapsus $ is the same group of hackers who last month claimed responsibility for Nvidia’s microchip data leak.
