Querétaro players received death threats, says coach

In the midst of the events, Cristante and his players helped some Atlas fans who were attacked by violent fans of the Queretaro and they sheltered them in the dressing room.

“I saw a boy who was being beaten and I grabbed three boys (players) to get him out and we took him to the tunnel,” Cristante said. He added: “I can identify two (assailants) very well and I am not afraid.”

“Today there is a sensitive campus, a campus with fear and threats, when the campus was not really involved in any act of violence or inciting these things to happen.”

According to club reports Queretaroin the stands there were approximately 14 thousand fans and the security device was made up of 600 people.
