Ukraine plans to keep all captured Russian soldiers together, Ukrainian Interior Minister Dennis Monastirsky said on television.
“It simply came to our notice then. We address this issue through the Ministry of Justice. All the prisoners are being brought together and will be together, “said the Minister.
He noted that “very many prisoners” are being detained by Ukrainian soldiers.
“There are a lot of prisoners because they are leaving themselves [militāro] technique. Surrender to our territorial defense forces, to our armed forces, simply to the people in the countryside who tell us that the Russian machinery operators are leaving it and say that they want to leave. Many prisoners are received by the National Guard, the National Police, “the minister said.
“We see despair in the opponent’s eyes, a desire to leave his equipment and get away,” Monastirski said. He noted, however, that it would be a mistake to underestimate the enemy.
Deputy Interior Minister Anton Heraščenko previously announced that almost 2,000 Russian soldiers have been captured in Ukraine since February 24.
