the-Salle | Obituary. Death of Michel Mourot

Michel Mourot died on Saturday, at the age of 82, at the Nancy hospital, after having once again fought courageously against the disease, surrounded by the affection of his family.

Born in the village on March 30, 1939, he met Roseline Georges, a native of Jouy-sous-les-Côtes and married her in Cornviéville. The couple then moved into the house at 53 Grande Rue. Four children joined them, Robert, Isabelle, François and Marie-Sophie. Eight grandchildren and a great-granddaughter came to enlarge the family circle.

Michel Mourot worked at the Vannes-le-Châtel glass factory and also occasionally for his commune of Rigny. Hardworking, he loved gardening and tinkering. A renowned player in card competitions, he and his wife frequented the Golden Age club in Rigny and the leisure club in Sauvigny. Good and jovial, he loved contact with others and family reunions.

His funeral will be celebrated this Wednesday, March 9, at 10 a.m. in the village church.

Our condolences.
