Benefits will increase by 7% As a result, the lowest pension is now PLN 1,338.44 and is higher by PLN 87.56 than the year before. In April, pensioners will receive the thirteenth pension of the same amount, and in the second half of 2022 – the fourteenth one. For the majority, it will also amount to PLN 1,338.44, and for pensioners with a higher benefit – this amount will be reduced accordingly, as in the current year.
At the beginning of March, pensions increased by 7%. this is more than the statutory indexation index. It is calculated on the basis of the average annual consumer price index in the previous calendar year and is increased by at least 20%. real increase in the average wage in the previous calendar year. According to data from the Central Statistical Office of Poland (GUS), the index should amount to 5.7%, but the government decided to increase its indexation at the level of 7%.
Thanks to the higher indexation and the previously introduced protective supplement, the financial situation of retirees and disability pensioners – in the period of rising prices – will be better protected. We wanted more money to remain in the wallets of seniors – says the Minister of Family and Social Policy, Marlena Maląg.
