SOE Minister Erick Thohir said President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is scheduled to receive a group of MotoGP riders, including Marc Marquez, in Jakarta on Wednesday 16 March 2022 ahead of MotoGP Mandalika 2022.
“I want to convey Alhamdulillah later on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, President Joko Widodo will also receive a group of MotoGP racers who are willing to come to Jakarta,” said Erick Thohir as quoted from BetweenSunday (6/3).
Erick said that Jokowi would receive a number of famous MotoGP racers on March 16, such as Marquez, Maverick Vinales, Joan Mir, Andrea Dovizioso, Francesco Bagnaia, and 12 other MotoGP racers.
Regarding the arrival of a group of MotoGP racers to Jakarta, the Ministry of SOEs is still consulting with the Presidential Palace. The agenda and all decisions rest with the President of the Republic of Indonesia and from the Palace.
“We only encourage that this is an extraordinary opportunity for Indonesia to be able to promote a very large motorcycle racing, and most importantly for all of us this MotoGP activity is only the first year and we still have 9 years left,” said Erick.
“So I think the preparations that we have made in the first year are certainly not only the Ministry of SOEs, but the Ministry of PUPR, the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, and the Coordinating Ministers are very involved. together,” said Erick.
Erick also confirmed that the tickets for the third or final day of the Mandalika MotoGP 2022, March 18-20, were sold out.
“We are here to express our great appreciation for the public’s interest because the MotoGP tickets for the main one can be sold out. Of course this interest comes both individually, as a community and as a corporation. Thank you to all those who have continued to work hard over the past week until the third day’s tickets run out,” said Erick.
Erick and other stakeholders will also continue to encourage ticket sales for the first and second day, which are currently still available.
