On Friday, March 4, 2022, the new corona rules announced and adopted in February as a result of the consultations between the heads of government of the federal and state governments will come into force in Hesse. They bring cautious loosening, especially in terms of gastronomy and events. The latter can again be visited by more people, with the decisive factor being whether they take place indoors or outdoors:
- If there are more than ten visitors, the 3G rule applies to all events
- The 2G Plus rule applies to more than 500 participants/spectators
- Up to 25,000 people can attend outdoor events
- For the capacity exceeding 500 seats, a maximum occupancy of 75 percent is permitted
- A maximum of 6,000 people can attend indoor events
- For capacity exceeding 500 seats, a maximum occupancy of 60 percent is permitted
Proof indoors
In addition, 3G proof is sufficient in most indoor areas. This means that access is possible for vaccinated, recovered and people with a current negative test. Specifically, this affects the following facilities:
- Sports halls, fitness studios, saunas and indoor pools
- Interiors of zoos, botanical gardens and amusement parks
- casinos and arcades
- Castles, museums, galleries and memorials
- all physical services
- hotels and restaurants
bars and clubs
The regulations are different for bars and clubs – here 2G-Plus must always be implemented indoors – in addition, operation is to be regulated as follows:
- In discotheques, bars and clubs, 2G applies outdoors, as well as a capacity limit of 75 percent from the first guest – indoors, in addition to 2G-Plus, there is a capacity limit of 60 percent of the total capacity.
schools
Another change will also come into effect on Monday, March 7, 2022: then all schoolchildren in Hesse will no longer be required to wear masks when seated.
“The pandemic is not over, even if it is of course taking a back seat due to the events in Ukraine. The pleasing development in both the number of infections and the hospital burden allows us to gradually withdraw the restrictions that protect us from the virus. Nevertheless, there is no reason to become careless. That’s why caution, mask, distance and hygiene measures will continue to accompany us,” says Hesse’s Health Minister Kai Klose. “In addition, the highest possible vaccination rate remains the key to overcoming the pandemic: Therefore, please get vaccinated, use the numerous available, uncomplicated vaccination offers throughout Hesse, so that we can all go into the next few months with the best possible protection,” says Klose further.
