Just like it happened earlier today (5)in São Paulo’s 1-0 victory over Corinthians, the match between Santos and Ferroviária also had its start delayed in Araraquara. The heavy rain, which also had hail, and the power outage postponed the start of the confrontation.
The teams took to the pitch, but the lack of electricity also prevented the national anthem from being played. The start was scheduled for 18:30, however, without lighting, the players were exchanging passes on the field.
At 18:37, that is, seven minutes after the scheduled time, referee Luiz Flávio de Oliveira gathered the teams in the middle of the field. Then, both Peixe and Locomotiva returned to the locker room to wait for the power to return.
Reporter Alexandre Oliveira, from YouTube, reported that there was an explosion in a power network near the stadium and, therefore, there was a power outage. A team is already working on site. Also according to the reporter, the referee will return to the pitch in 30 minutes to reassess the start of the match.
At 7:30 pm, when the floodlights were already on, the game was rescheduled for 8:00 pm. However, a few minutes too long, a new blackout hit the scene and again delayed the kick-off.
The confrontation between the teams, at Arena da Fonte da Luminosa, in Araraquara, is valid for the 10th round of Paulistão.
