Series Disney+ The Falcon and The Winter Soldier directly followed the events ofAvengers : Endgame. In history, Bucky (Sebastian Stan) et Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) were teaming up to stop a team of international anarchist terrorists. Throughout the show, Sam Wilson was in constant dilemma to take back the shield of Steve Rogers and endorse his legacy for the MCU’s sequel. In particular, he faced John Walker (US Agent) who was originally chosen by the government to take over the costume.
At the very end of the series, Sam Wilson ends up accepting the role of Captain Americathus clearly implying the start of a fourth film, after First Avenger (2011), The Winter Soldier (2014) et Civil War (2016). Anthony Mackie will resume its mythical role of Captain America flying and it is not impossible to review Sebastian Stan on Bucky in the spans of the MCU.
In an interview with Kevin Field from Yahoo Entertainment, Sebastian Stan briefly commented on how he felt about the upcoming movie Captain America 4 :

The actor notably confirmed that he was “very excited” and that the project reminded him ” a little Rocky » :
“But I’m very excited for this movie and I think it’s going to be great. It will add a whole other feel to this idea. It kinda reminds me Rocky, in some ways. »
The mention of Sebastian Stan regarding Rocky could perhaps signal that the film will follow a trajectory similar to the canons of the films around the Boxer. In other words, Sam Wilson could experience enormous disillusionment and slowly climb the slope to achieve total redemption. It remains to wait for new information on the film, which does not yet have a start date for filming.
